[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][gem_divider margin_top=”32″][vc_column_text]Bagneri is a small alpine hamlet in the municipality of Muzzano, located at about 900 meters on the slopes of the Biellese Alps. Since 1994 this hamlet with its few inhabitants has been “adopted” by the association Amici di Bagneri “Enrica Simone” that has contributed to recover its buildings, traditions and productions in close collaboration with local farmers and breeders. Since 2002, Bagneri is also a cell of the Ecomuseo Valle Elvo e Serra and of the Ecomuseo del Biellese. For centuries, the inhabitants of Bagneri have been devoted to the care of the chestnut woods surrounding the hamlet. The small parish is the owner of some chestnut trees while others are cared for by volunteers together with the inhabitants. Together, volunteers and inhabitants have put back into operation the old “grà”, a building inside which chestnuts are dried on an attic made of boards under which a wood fire is lit: as it rises, heat and smoke pass through the boards, drying the chestnuts and giving them a particular aroma.
