Azienda Agricola Albertana is a small family-run farm located in Netro, in the Elvo valley, at about 800 m above sea level. We produce artisanal goat’s milk cheeses from raw milk using only milk from the farm’s own herd.
We took over the breeding and dairy from Mauro Albertini, who founded Albertana more than twenty years ago, leading it to produce cheeses of excellence known in Italy and abroad for their quality. Thanks to Mauro’s teachings and continuous support, we have the possibility and the intention of maintaining the quality of the company’s products at the levels of excellence that have always distinguished us, while at the same time bringing our experience and passion for the mountains, animals and good, genuine products to the management of the company.
The farm is surrounded by alpine pastures, clearings, birch forests and cool streams, where the goats, grazing on mountain grasses and shrubs, contribute to preserving the ecosystem of the alpine pastures and mountain essences, enriching the products with taste and quality.
The herd consists of around 50 lactating Saanen goats, which have a large covered barn with a mezzanine floor to allow them to share space according to the herd hierarchy, with access to the surrounding pastures and woods. Their feed is GMO-free and is designed for their well-being and to encourage lactation while respecting the physiological balance of the animal.
The dairy is adjacent to the cowshed and has all the necessary equipment to guarantee maximum hygiene and product safety.
Raw processing maintains the positive bacterial flora of the milk, made up of indigenous lactic bacteria, moulds and yeasts, with specific improving effects on the nutritional value (greater intake of vitamins, proteins and calcium) and organoleptic properties (greater intensity, nuances and persistence of flavours).
Adjacent to the laboratory is the sales outlet where our products can be purchased.
