The farm is located in the flat area of Biella, along the Cervo stream in the river park.
Since 2016, we have made a major responsible choice: switching from traditional to organic farming methods, a choice that has led us to a change in the way we cultivate our land and raise our cows.
By revolutionising the feeding of the animals by abolishing maize chopping and replacing it with fodder, we have introduced the cultivation of alfalfa, sorghum and fodder mixtures, which are a mixture of grasses and legumes, increasing the amount of fodder and decreasing the amount of cereals, returning towards the most natural feed for the cow.
This has led to a better quality of milk, much richer in vitamins and organoleptic substances.
We put a lot of emphasis on the cow’s welfare by giving her the opportunity to be outdoors and to be able to enter the cowshed as she pleases, the calves are fed with mother’s milk to transmit to them all the mother’s antibodies.
Milking is carried out with a milking robot, it seems a paradox, but in this way we give the cow the freedom to decide for herself when to be milked, 24 hours a day, avoiding the stress, especially in hot weather, caused by collective milking that involves herding the animals for more than two hours, twice a day.
With TeriTori, we have embarked on the road of product transformation by producing yoghurt.
