In 2004 the farm “La Bessa” obtained the organic certification. In 2001 it was planted a first hazelnut grove of 650 plants of the variety Tonda Gentile del Piemonte and in 2007, given the excellent results, other 600 plants were planted, followed by the last 150 in 2011. In 2012, the company acquired a 6-hectare piece of land in the municipality of Cerrione, where spelt and buckwheat are cultivated to enrich the menu with genuine flavors. From the passion and the hands of the family come out hazelnut-based products (spreadable creams and hazelnut oil), fruit and vegetable compotes, but also honey obtained from the blooms of the meadows of the Serra. The Ribotto family is the only producer of IGP Piedmont hazelnuts in the Biella area.
