It all began in 1986 as a life choice shared by the family, with the desire to take care of the land and produce good and sustainable food. An example of this is the bread production cycle: starting from the ancient grains, grown on the farm’s land, to the milling of the flour and the preparation of the bread, kneaded by hand, made to rise with sourdough and baked in a wood-fired oven. At Cascina Escuelita bread making courses are also held for small groups of up to ten people. Another field of activity is the cultivation of vegetables, especially roots, and the collection of seasonal wild herbs. The company has a laboratory where it directly transforms vegetables and fruit into preserves and jams. The ingredients that are not self-produced, such as the extra-virgin olive oil in the pickles or the sugar in the jams, are purchased from producers with organic certification that the family knows directly or through fair trade.
The store is open every Tuesday and Wednesday from 15.00 to 19.30.
For different times, as well as to buy bread, it is necessary to book.
