The magic of bees

Have you ever wondered how long a bee lives? Who decides that a certain larva will be queen? Why are cells perfect hexagons? What is pollen used for? What happens to the drones? How much honey does a bee produce in its lifetime? How do explorer bees “explain” to foragers where the best blooms are? When does honey expire?

Come visit us and we will observe these wonderful insects at work together.

The two-hour experience takes place in our apiary in Netro (BI) discovering bees and the activities of the beekeeper. Put on a mask, gloves and the necessary protections, and we will enter the heart of the hive. We will observe how the family is organized, how the roles are distributed among the bees, and we will learn to distinguish their age and functions. If we are lucky, we will see the queen surrounded by her maids, the drones, the larvae, the collected honey, and the pollen, and we will observe how the bees communicate with each other.

At the end of the visit, a tasting of local products and organic honey from Aperò, to exchange impressions and answer your questions. Mask, smock or overalls and gloves supplied by Aperò. We recommend long trousers and closed shoes.

You will be guests in our house: four donkeys, a horse, two cats and a dog live with us in the large grounds and woods. We can’t wait to introduce you to the whole Aperò team!
